When Harry is eventually discovered three days later, they hope he holds the answers to their questions. But he can’t remember a single thing.
Without any clues, will Dr Bloom find herself lost in this puzzle to?
Firstly I would like to thank Netgalley and the Publisher for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest review.
I was absolutely thrilled to see another ‘Bloom’ book after she had been the true star of the authors first book in the series ‘Gone’ she stole the show and I loved her so much, every other character became secondary to me. You can find my full review for her earlier book here …. https://allysreadingcorner.com/2020/06/25/bookreview-leonadeakin1-bookblogger-amreading-readingcommunity/
In less than an hour, a bomb will rip this building apart. One line, that’s all it took for me to be hooked, and it just kept drawing me in deeper.
I loved how everything was picked up where it was left in the previous book, as much as I hated how much Bloom and Jameson was fighting. However saying that the way she got him to work with her again seriously made my heart jump with glee, and only made me like her more.
Saying that, I’m afraid she was over-ruled for me this time. Karene’s passion and love that was clearly there sleeping through the pages made her my favourite character. I am by no means a romantic person and I would never really pick up a romantic book to read but I absolutely loved reading about Harry and Kerene, I wanted to know everything about them. They were so cute and I loved how much I could feel the love they held for each other.
50% way through and the pace slowed down dramatically for me, with the investigation and the lack of clues and evidence really made the book seem a little bit drawn out.
This was quickly redeemed with huge twist at the end that I by now means saw coming, it was like something smacking you in the face, it started me. It was genius.
But the ending of the book stole the best part for me. It was the happiest form of an ending I could have hoped for. Nothing lovey dovey, nothing that didn’t go with the theme of the book, it was just perfect and I am itching for my next fix of Dr Bloom.
If you love a twisty read and don’t mind reading through the slow parts that set the scene. This books series is definitely for you.
Thank you for reading 🙂
