Hello my Lovelies … well the time is finally here, Dead Mercy is finally out in the universe and to celebrate this FANTASTIC day. I have been speaking to non other than our favourite Detective Maggie Jamieson to grill her on those questions we have been dying to ask!!
Do you have any role models?
I am inspired by a lot of people and for various reasons. My partner… well he’s my boss now, DS Nathan Wright has always inspired me to be a better person for instance. Strong women, like DI Abigail Rutherford also has been a great role model – even on her worst days, she gives 110%. Dr Kate Moloney also inspires me. She’s been through so much, and even though I probably only know about 20% of what she has been through, her courage, resilience and intelligence blows my mind.
Did you always want to work in the police force? If not what did you want to be.
I think I have always wanted to be a police officer or something in the criminal justice field. I hate seeing injustice and have always wanted to see bad people get what they deserve.
What is your biggest regret?
I don’t like regrets – everything I’ve done or has happened to me has made me the person I am today. If I have to say something I regret, it would only be a tiny regret and that is putting all my energy into work and not focusing on myself. But that’s all changing…
Have you ever been in love?
Not yet. I’ve been in ‘serious like’ with a few people… I’ll find the one someday, but I quite like being on my own. We’ll see.
Describe the routine of a normal day for you and how you feel if this is disrupted.
I like to get up early and can function if I have at least three/four hours sleep as long as coffee is easily accessible. I work anywhere between 8 and 11 hours a day, unless there’s a big case and then I find it hard to switch off. When at home, I like to read or watch a good film. I hate being late and I hate waiting for people so if that happens, I get really pissed off. If anything gets messed up in terms of how I’m expecting things to go, it really screws with my head. I may be grumpier than normal…
What is your greatest strength/weakness?
Greatest strength – my determination.
Greatest weakness – also my determination… it can cause me a bit of trouble if I’m not flexible or if I push on when I’m told not to… saying that, I usually am right (not being egotistical – I generally won’t forge ahead with something unless I am pretty damn sure that I’m on the right track).
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Probably where I am now. I have already passed the sergeants exam but declined an offer of promotion because I like the operational side of things. I’d hope that my personal life might be better but 🤷🏼♀️
What is your biggest fear?
When I have to retire. What the hell will I do with myself then?
What 3 words would others probably use to describe you?
Oh now you’re asking 🤔 I’ve been called many things 😂 probably hobby, impulsive, has a good heart – at least I hope there’s be at least one good description 😂
If you were to die and come back as a person, animal or thing, what do you think it would be and why?
I had to think about this for a while. I think I’d like to come back as a cat. They are so independent, get fussed and fed. Plus sleeping all day kind of appeals to me.
Maggie Jamieson is the life and soul of Staffordshire Police Constabulary. She may turn some heads the wrong way and get on the wrong side of people with her abrupt tones, but she always means well and only ever wants to get the job and the culprit behind bars.
Catching convicts is what she does best and there is no one better for the job than her.
Well, I don’t know about you but I think I may have fallen in love with DC Maggie just a little bit more after that interview!!!
Maggie would absolutely love it if you would follow the Blog Tour for her latest mission and hear what everyone has to say about the excellent job she did.
And if you wanted to the order book – she would love to be your BFF … https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dead-Mercy-gripping-thriller-suspense-ebook/dp/B092YLSSK3/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=dead+mercy&qid=1637270802&qsid=257-9040410-5801515&sr=8-1&sres=B092YLSSK3%2C1519151292%2CB00VITWWVW%2CB005PNB23Q%2CB08S9FJ9YG%2CB09LS6YFLS%2CB084X4WHRT%2C1472132009%2CB091718T1Z%2CB0787VH9KT%2C0349135541%2C0008474273%2CB07JZH997Q%2CB07MW6YBV6
