20 questions #Book tag – I #read @pickybookworm post and thought I would let you know mine.

Book tags are such a fun way to let people know a little bit more about me as a BookBlogger and they are also super fun to answer. So here we go…

HOW MANY BOOKS ARE TOO MANY FOR A SERIES?

If I love the series, I can guarantee there will not be enough. I can not read series back to back I do need to have a break in between and read other books or I do tend to get bored. But the recent series I have loved, there hasn’t been enough and I wanted them to continue until… well forever.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CLIFFHANGERS?

I love a good cliffhanger if I know there is another book coming my way, but if the book is a standalone and it ends on a cliffhanger I feel cheated. I NEED to know what happened.

HARDCOVER OR PAPERBACK?

Paperback!! Hands down, I love paperbacks. One thing I find annoying and my bank balance will also agree is that if a book comes out in hard copy first I will still buy it because I need to read it but then I will also buy the paperback when it comes out and donate the hard copy.

FAVOURITE BOOK?

You mean I have to pick just one? The answer to this question changes each year with the amount of great books that keep being published! But my all time fave has to be The Book Thief.

LEAST FAVOURITE BOOK?

Hmm I’m not keen on this question. I like to influence people on the best books to read and not influence on what not to read. Just because I don’t like a book doesn’t mean the next person won’t. However my least favourite genre to read I will tell you is romance.

LOVE TRIANGLES YES OR NO?

The books I read don’t really focus to much on love but I would rather read a love triangle than about a soppy couple who are so in love.

THE MOST RECENT BOOK YOU COULDN’T FINISH?

WOW. It has honestly been such a long time since I have not finished a book. I am quite lucky that most of the books I choose to read are usually awesome. Sometimes I do find it hard to get into a book but that is also because the book previous was so amazing. The last book I struggled to read was The Las House On Needless Street – please don’t shoot me guys. I know so many of you absolutely loved this book. But it wasn’t a favourite for me.

A BOOK YOUR CURRENTLY READING?

I am half way through The New Neighbour by Miranda Rijks – so awesome. Definitely a thrilling read to add to your lists.

THE LAST BOOK YOU RECOMMENDED TO SOMEONE?

I actually did a Tik Tok live recently for book recommendations so I possibly can’t list all the books I recommended but the last book I recommended that the person has told me they loved was You Need Me by Sharon Bairden. It’s amazing everyone and you should definitely check it out.

OLDEST BOOK YOU’VE READ BY PUBLICATION DATE?

I honestly have no idea.

NEWEST BOOK YOU’VE READ BU PUBLICATION DATE?

If we can include books that haven’t been published yet I have quite a few. But the one that has stood out to me the most is Nasty Little Cuts by Tina Baker.

BUYING BOOKS OR BORROWING BOOKS?

Always buying. There are many ways we can view and read books for free but even if I get an arc or read a book on NetGalley I will always go and buy the book as well. I tend to read and accept these because I can’t wait for the book to be published. 😂

A BOOK YOU DISLIKE THAT EVERYONE SEEMS TO LOVE?

My Twitter was full of praise for The Last House On Needless Street. It was going crazy for weeks and I couldn’t wait to join in and read the book – but it just wasn’t for me.

BOOKMARKS OR DOG EARS?

Bookmarks always. I value my trophy shelf with my life. I could NEVER dog ear a book.

A BOOK YOU CAN ALWAYS RE-READ?

If the book is on my trophy shelf it is because it is definitely worthy of a re-read. But as you all know we don’t always get time to re-read our fave’s. The book I have re-read the most is probably Stay Mad, Sweetheart by Heleen Kist.

CAN YOU READ WHILE LISTENING TO MUSIC?

Sometimes I can, if the music is on low but recently I have found it very distracting but I find it so relaxing to listen to rain and thunder on Spotify while I’m reading, it makes me feel extra cosy and relaxed.

ONE POV OR MULTIPLE?

I honestly have no preference, I really don’t mind I have read many books with both or just one and have enjoyed them equally.

DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SITTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS?

It’s rare I get the chance to read a book In one sitting but if I had the time, yes I definitely would. It usually takes me 2 days on average to read a standard sized book.

WHO DO YOU TAG?

I am tagging anyone that would like to take part and answer the questions. If you do take part please let me know so I can read your answers.

Until next time bookworms…

  1. I loved this so much!

I tend to ignore praise for books on socials unless I’m part of the praise. If I haven’t read a book yet, and socials are raving about it, I get worried because I tend to be disappointed. It makes me sad when this happens. I think that’s why I’m waiting so long to read Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne. Letting some of the hype die down.
